BACK! La Trochoire - Elisabeth 2018 (vitt/white): Chenin from the heart of Loire Valley

Bastien Rocour has been making wine for close to 10 years now at La Trochoire, close to Chinon, in the heart of the Loire valley, and this still young winemaker has immediately made a strong impression with his white wines made with the Chenin blanc grapes iconic for the region.

Elisabeth 2018 offered a great example of how the Chenin's acidity combines superbly with the round touch of oak barrel maturation.

Even more aromatically powerful as the first time we offered it in our selection a few years ago, this natural white wine offers an intense taste experience that will be sublimated by pairing it with farm poultry with chanterelles, lobster on the grill, crayfish, strong cheeses and similarly powerful and elaborated Winter dishes. 

Better served around 11°C.
