Domaine Coustarret is located in the beautiful and lush Béarn region of France, nestled at an altitude of 380m against the Pyrénées mountain range. Besides its delicious and generous food tradition the region is also famous for its Jurançon white wines, both dry and sweet, made with the local white grapes: Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng.
Domaine Coustarret has been passed down for seven generations. Driven by the knowledge of his ancestors and the passion for his profession, winemaker Sébastien strives to highlight the unique typicity of Jurançon grapes.
Rigor, patience, observation allow the vine to produce the best fruits that will overflow with flavors and rare expressions. The vineyard has been officially certified as organic farming since 2020 and has respected biodynamic practices for 5 years.
Or Ange 2021 is a so-called 'orange' wine, that means a white wine for which the grapes have not been pressed immediately after the harvest, but have been left macerating for a certain time (like is done for red wines) so that the wine will get tannins and color from the skin fo the grapes before being pressed. This makes for powerful and heavier white wine often orange in coulour, hence the name.
Or Ange 2021 is the first orange wine of Coustarret estate and they put a lot of efforts in it, selecting each and single berry that went ino it by hand so as to only have the healthiest grapes in it. The result is a well-crafted orange wine with a beautiful simultaneously bright and cloudy color, zesty aromas and a devilishly salty and salivating mouth, which should not fail to please orange wine lovers!
