La Sauvagère - Monsieur Pineau 2021 (mousserande/white sparkling): Petnat all the way

La Sauvagère is a new winery set up by Nicolas and Lili, a young French-Spanish couple who settled in the village of Candes St-Martin in the heart of the Loire Valley, between Chinon and Saumur. Neighbours and friends to reknowned natural winemaker Patrick Corbineau, they adopt the same philosophy in their winemaking: do things by hand, naturally and wholeheartedly. 2021 is their first vintage.

While we wait for their red wines to be ready, we aleady have the pleasure to introduce their PetNat (natural sparkling wine) made of Menu Pineau grapes and therefore called 'Monsieur Pineau". A sparkling wine with all the qualities you are looking for in a PetNat: wine taste, lively aromatic frame and texture, great mlenght in mouth, fine and subtle bubbles that support the wine rather than stand in the way. A first vintage that ticks all the boxes, congrats!
